Located in downtown La Paz, on a wide plaza by the university, there is a small blue house squashed between other buildings. Adorned with delicate wrought iron which looks more like lacework, it is home to the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo – a celebration of Bolivia’s contemporary artists. Unlike most Modern Art museums I’ve been to, it is not about weird, experimental ‘art’ – it is just a showcase of superlative works from current artists.
This statue styled in the form of a classical beauty had pride of place on the balcony overlooking the mountains.
I miss this city and its culture more than words can say, and I can’t wait to go back someday!
